The much-awaited Asia Cup 2023 drafted schedule is out by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). As per reports, the tournament opener will be between Pakistan and Nepal and will take place in Multan. The much-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The draft, on the other hand, is anticipated to undergo several alterations before the final version is released.

The ACC finally selected the hybrid format despite several challenges. Under this permitted agreement, the first four matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. It will be followed by a move to Sri Lanka for nine matches, including the final. Multan was added as the second site when a new PCB administration took over last month, led by new chairman Zaka Ashraf.

The event will include 13 matches, all of which will begin at 1 pm Pakistan Standard Time (1.30 pm Sri Lanka Standard Time and Indian Standard Time). Pakistan is in Group A with India and Nepal, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, where the top two teams will advance to the final. The Asia Cup will be contested in 50-over style this time around.

India can meet Pakistan 3 times

India might meet Pakistan 3 times in the upcoming Asia Cup. They will first face the Babar Azam-led side in their official group match. If both the teams qualify for the Super 4 they will meet again on 10th September and if both teams finish top two in the Super 4 they might meet in the final of the Asia Cup which is to be held on 30th of September.

Bangladesh is scheduled to face Afghanistan on September 3 in Lahore, followed by Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan on September 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium. According to the draft schedule, regardless of where they finish in the first round, Pakistan will stay A1 and India A2, while Sri Lanka would be B1 and Bangladesh B2.
