‘Prabhsimran out of syllabus aa gaya’ – Fans react as Punjab opener scores fifty against Rajasthan in Indian T20 League 2023
After winning the first game in Indian T20 League 2023 against Hyderabad by 72 runs, the Rajasthan franchise is locking horns against the Punjab side at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, in Guwahati. The home team skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. Both the squads were unchanged from their last matches.
“We would like to bowl here. Expecting some dew. We will use the opportunity to bowl first. It is a great thought by the franchise. Loving it here. The players have gotten used to the conditions. We are going in with the same side. Very happy to see them grow. Jaiswal and Parag have grown a lot learning from the experienced guys,” Samson was quoted as saying after winning the toss.
“We all know the dew comes. We also wanted to bowl first. It is alright. We are used to it. Let’s go day by day. Not putting too much pressure on myself. The process matters the most. Same eleven from the last game. Rajasthan is a very good side. They are playing good cricket. We want to give our best,” Punjab skipper Shikhar Dhawan was quoted as saying during the toss time.
Prabhsimran Singh plays a crucial knock for Punjab

They attacked each and every bowler in the powerplay, which included the likes of New Zealand veteran seamer Trent Boult, KM Asif, India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, and West Indies star all-rounder Jason Holder.
Both the openers together put on a partnership of 90 runs in 58 balls before the 22-year-old was sent back to the pavilion the bowling of Holder after playing a brilliant knock of 60 runs off just 34 balls, which included seven fours and three marvellous sixes. The Punjab skipper scored 86 runs from 56 balls with nine fours and three sixes. The Punjab team scored 197/4 in their allotted 20 overs. For Rajasthan, Jason Holder took two wickets, while the spinning duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal took one each.
