Rajasthan faced Lucknow in the 20th match of the Indian T20 League 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match went down the wire as the two teams fought it out in a last-over thriller.
While batting first in the match Rajasthan posted a total of 165 runs on the board. Lucknow fought hard to win the match. The late onslaught by Marcus Stoinis nearly sealed the deal for Lucknow. In the last over Lucknow required 15 runs to win the match. The Rajasthan skipper, Sanju Samson entrusted Kuldeep Sen with the last over.
The debutant stood up to his captain’s expectations and bowled a brilliant last over under pressure. After Avesh Khan managed a single of the first ball of the over, Sen bowled three consecutive dots to inform Marcus Stoinis. With 14 runs left to score on the last two balls, the match was over for Lucknow. Although Stoinis picked up 10 runs of the last two deliveries, it was of no use. Giving away 11 runs in the over Sen helped his team win the match by 3 runs.
