The tussle between India and Pakistan cricket board over Men’s Asia Cup 2023 is increasing with every passing time. A couple of months back, Indian Cricket Board secretary and ACC president, Jay Shah had ‘unilaterally’ announced that India won’t be playing in Pakistan for the continental tournament next year. Since then. the PCB is pushing hard to retain the hosting rights of the tournament.

They had even threatened to pull out of the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, the matter went cold with the 20-20 World Cup 2022 coming closer. However, the tournament concluded a couple of weeks back. Now with no major tournament coming up, the PCB chairperson, Ramiz Raja has brought up the matter once again. He has said that if India doesn’t travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup, then they won’t travel to India for the World Cup.

Pakistan beat ‘million-dollar’ team twice a year: Ramiz Raja

The 1992 World Cup winner added that the PCB is firm on their stance and the ODI WC won’t be a hit if the Green Brigade doesn’t play.

“Our position is blunt that if they (Indian team) come then we will go to the World Cup, if they don’t come then let them do it. Let them play without Pakistan. If Pakistan does not participate in the World Cup scheduled in India next year, who will see it? We will adopt an aggressive approach, our team is showing performance, we have defeated the biggest business-making cricket team in the world, we have played the final of the T20 World Cup.

“I have always said that we have to improve the economy of Pakistan cricket and that will only happen when our team performs well, we have done it in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Beat India, we beat India in the Asia Cup, Pakistan cricket team has beaten the board of billion dollar economy twice in one year,” Ramiz Raja was quoted as saying by Urdu News.
