‘Ranking wanking sab moh maya hai’ – Fans react after Pakistan becomes No.1 ODI team after series win against New Zealand
Pakistan have now become the number-one ODI team after a home-series win over New Zealand. Pakistan have dominated the Kiwis as they have taken an unassailable lead of 4-0 in a five-match series. In the fourth match of the series at the National Stadium in Karachi, the hosts defeated New Zealand by 102 runs powered by the century by the skipper Babar Azam. Batting first, Pakistan posted a total of 334 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, New Zealand were bowled out for 232 runs in 43.4 overs.
Pakistan lost their first wicket in the seventh over when the inform batter Fakhar Zaman got out after scoring just 14 runs. After that, Babar and Shan Masood put up a 50-run partnership for the second wicket. Masood got out after scoring 44 runs off 55 including seven boundaries. While in the middle overs, Salman Ali Agha took charge of the innings with Babar as they both added 117 runs for the fourth wicket. Agha got out in the 41st over after a well-made 58 runs off 46 balls hitting four and two sixes. Meanwhile, Babar went on to score his 18th ODI century. The 28-year-old got out after scoring 107 runs off 117 balls hitting 10 boundaries.
Mohammad Haris (17 off 8) and Shaheen Afridi (23 off 7) added the finishing touches to the innings as Pakistan goes past 330 runs. For New Zealand, Matt Henry scalped 3 wickets, while Benjamin Lister and Ish Sodhi shared a wicket each.
New Zealand lost regular wickets in a chase of 337
Chasing the winning total, the Blackcaps didn’t had a great start as they lost 2 wickets for 46 runs in nine overs. After that, skipper Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell took charge of the innings by adding 83 runs for the fourth third wicket. Mitchell got out after scoring 34 runs off 48 balls. After that, Latham added another 55 runs with Mark Chapman for the fourth wicket. Chapman scored 46 runs off 33 balls hitting four fours and three sixes. While Lathamm got out after scoring 60 runs off 76 balls including five boundaries.
After that, the visitors started losing wickets again at regular intervals and were bolwed out under 240 runs in the 44th over. For Pakistan, Usama Mir scalped 4 wicketss by conceding 43 runs in his 10 overs. Mohammad Wasim Jr. took 3 wickets, while Haris Rauf scalped 2 and Shaheen Afridi put 1 in his bag.

Although most of the NZ players are busy in IPL, this was a second string XI but still cheers for achieving this feat, hope Pak becomes as good as Aus, Eng and India especially in longer formats so we see more competitive cricket. ⏫
