‘Picture yourself’ – Ravichandran Ashwin comes up with strong reply to Michael Vaughan’s remark on Team India
Just a few days ago, former England cricketer Michael Vaughan made headlines with his audacious claim for Team India. Notably, the legendary cricketer called Rohit Sharma and Co. an underachieving team when they lost the first Test game in Centurion. However, following him, a plethora of cricket pundits and former cricketers lashed out at Team India’s failure.
Former England captain Michel Vaughan slams Team India while saying that they haven’t achieved in the major tournaments despite having a bunch of talented cricketers. “They haven’t won much in recent times. I think they are (an underachieving side). They don’t win anything. When was the last time they won something? With all the talent they have, all the skill-set (they should have achieved more.”
Meanwhile, India’s star cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin takes a dig at the Vaughan verdict by saying Team India is the best visiting nation ever among all the cricketing teams. In addition, the right-arm-off spinner feels Team India always produces the best results in SENA countries.
“Michael Vaughan made a statement after the first Test that India is an underachieving team. Yes, we haven’t won major trophies for years. We call ourselves the powerhouses of the game. But the Test team has been one of the best travelling teams in the vicinity. We have seen many great results,” Ravichandran Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
After Michael Vaughan said that, so many experts from our own country started questioning: Ravichandran Ashwin
In addition, the lower-order batter tells Vaughan to review the situation of the first Test game and asks him if the results can go either way if Proteas batted first in Centurion, the same as Cape Town.
“After he said that, so many experts from our own country started questioning if India is an underachieving team. Frankly, it made me laugh. Picture yourself. Just reverse the situation. SA batted first in this Test after winning the toss. If SA had batted first after winning the toss in Centurion, wasn’t there a chance they could have gotten all out by 65?” he added further.
