Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered an embarrassing loss by 81 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, April 6 at the Eden Garden in Kolkata. Despite having a strong batting lineup, RCB couldn’t even cross the 150-run mark. After losing Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, the middle order scattered like a pack of cards.

Interestingly, RCB produced a wonderful chase against Mumbai Indians in the first match but couldn’t continue the rhythm in the second match. In this article, we will take a look at RCB’s 3 biggest losses in terms of runs:

The first-ever match of the Indian Premier League was played between the Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers. However, no one was expecting that they will be witnessing a run-fest in the opening match itself as batting first, KKR put up a monumental total of 222 runs.

The match is still fresh in the memory of many fans as Brendon McCullum played an unforgettable knock of 158* off just 73 deliveries which included 10 fours and 13 sixes. Chasing the target, RCB managed to score only 82 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 140 runs. No other batters except Praveen Kumar were able to put a double digit individual score.
