Results Of India’s Events On Day 11 Of Commonwealth Games 2022
Indian athletes continued to add more medals to their tally on the last day of the Commonwealth Games 2022. On the 11th Day, 8 August 2022, curtains came down on this year’s mega event. However, India finished fourth in the overall standings of the medal tally with 61 medals across all the events. The Indian contingent finished with 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze. However, after winning 15 medals on Day 10, Indian fans had high hopes for more glory on the last day. But, Indian athletes did not disappoint as they add six more medals. In fact, India completed a clean sweep in Badminton and Table Tennis in this year’s Commonwealth Games.
In Badminton, Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu won gold medals in their respective events. While Achanta Sharath Kamal won the gold medal in Table Tennis after 16 years. However, only the Indian men’s Hockey team faced a thrashing defeat at the hands of Australia. Australians humiliated a young Indian side with a scoreline of 7-0. Hence, they settled for a silver medal. Meanwhile, Sharath Kamal and Boxer Nikhat Zareen were announced to be the flag bearers for the Indian contingent in the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Hockey
In Men’s Hockey Gold Medal Match, India lost to Australia (7-0). Hence, India sealed a silver medal in that event.
Badminton
PV Sindhu won the gold medal in Women’s Singles. She defeated Canada’s Michelle Li in straight two games (2-0). Along with her, Lakshya Sen won a gold medal in Men’s Singles. He showed a great fight to defeat Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong (2-1). However, Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy / Chirag Shetty defeated England’s Sean Vendy / Ben Lane to win another gold medal (2-0). Hence, India grabbed three medals in Badminton on the last day of this mega event.
Table Tennis
In Men’s Singles, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won a bronze medal by defeating England’s Paul Drinkhall (4-3). But, in the same event, Achanta Sharath Kamal won the gold medal by defeating England’s Liam Pitchford (4-1).
