Rishabh Pant conned by a fellow cricketer
The star Indian batter and wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant has been conned by a Haryana cricketer named Mrinank Singh. Mrinank has recently been arrested after he deceived a businessman by offering to get him expensive watches and mobile phones at a cheap rate. The south-paw along with his manager has filed a case against Mrinank for duping them with a bounced cheque of INR 1,63,000.
Mrinank was earlier arrested for cheating a businessman of INR 6 Lakhs by the Juhu police. The Saket court last week issued a notice to the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai to present the convict. It has been revealed that Pant wanted to buy a Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting Series watch and paid INR 36,25,120 for a Crazy Color watch alongside INR 62,60,000 for a Richard Mille watch.
According to sources from Mid-day, Pant stated in his complaint that he was deceived by Singh, who presented false references to earn Pant’s trust. The complaint also states that the expense of the watches that were presented on a mutual oral settlement of INR 1.63 Cr.
“In January 2021, Mrinank told Pant and Solanki that he had started a business of buying and selling luxury watches, bags, jewelry, etc. he gave references to several cricketers to whom he claimed to have sold the goods. He falsely represented to Pant and his manager that he could procure luxury watches and other accessories for them at good discounts and very cheap prices,”- the complaint read.
“Believing in the story of the accused, Pant handed over a luxury watch and few jewelry items in the month of Feb 2021 to the accused, that were purchased by him for INR 65,70,731/- (Sixty-Five Lakh Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-One only) for resale,”- the complaint further stated.
Sources have revealed that Mrinank has already conned a film director and several hotels.
