‘Rohit tum match khelana chhod do’ – Fans Surprised As Rohit Sharma Takes Rest Against Afghanistan In Asia Cup 2022

Rohit Sharma is currently playing the ongoing Asia Cup for India in UAE. After having a great year as a captain for India in the T20I format, Rohit came to this tournament with high hopes. Fans were also hoping for a triumph ahead of the 20-20 World Cup later this year. Eventually, India started well with two wins out of two.

But, in the ‘Super Four’ round, India lost the plot completely. They lost against Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively. With those losses, their chance of getting into the final got perished away. Therefore, ahead of the World Cup, India dealt with a blow. Even, fans have criticized Rohit Sharma’s captaincy for some surprising decisions during teh tournament.

Apart from his captaincy abilities, Rohit has failed to score big on a constant basis. In four matches, he scored only 133 runs, at an average of 33.25. In the first three matches, he got some starts. But, he failed to convert those. However, in the last match against Sri Lanka, he scored 72 runs off 41 balls. Therefore, fans were expecting him to be in action again as they want him to be in form ahead of the World Cup.

But, fans become surprised as KL Rahul came out for the toss against Afghanistan. Afghanistan won the toss and they opted to bowl first. Meanwhile, KL Rahul said that Rohit took a rest from this match to keep him fresh ahead of the World Cup. He also added that playing in Dubai is quite tough for players due to the scorching heat. Hence, Rohit decided to pull himself out of teh match. However, fans did not find any logic behind it as they started to question his decision. On the other hand, some fans thought that he took that decision to give some players a chance to play in the match.
