‘Ronaldo owns…’ – Netizens give mixed reactions after Cristiano Ronaldo’s scathing claims about Manchester United

Recently, Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo made some ‘scathing’ revelations against his team in an interview. Notably, the team and the player reportedly have had issues in the last several months. So much so, that it was believed that he would move to a different team. However, the Red Devils retained him for the ongoing season despite their manager Erik ten Hag reportedly not having Ronaldo in his future plans.

Meanwhile, in the interview, the 37-year-old said that he doesn’t have any respect left for Ten Hag. The former made a no-nonsense statement by saying that if someone doesn’t have respect for him, he doesn’t have for them either. Apart from this, the Portuguese international claimed that he felt betrayed due to some folks at the managerial level.

“I don’t have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said in a fragment of the interview that will air in full on Wednesday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

“Not only the manager, but the other two or three guys who are around the club [at the senior executive level]. I felt betrayed. I don’t care, people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn’t want me here, not only this year but last season too.”

Manchester United issues statement in response to Ronaldo’s interview

In response to Ronaldo’s statements, the club has said that they will respond after establishing full facts. Currently, the club is looking to focus on the second half of the season. The second half of the season will start after the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.

“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.

Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.” Manchester United said in their statement.
