Chasing 273, Rohit stepped up and scored a brilliant ton. The Indian captain took on the bowlers of Afghanistan and never looked in trouble whatsoever. The aggressive batter scored runs for fun against all the bowlers. Rohit scored a fabulous ton and reached the milestone in just 63 balls, the fastest ODI World Cup hundred by an Indian batter.

Rohit continued and scored 131 runs in 84 balls, which included 16 fours and 5 sixes. The knock by Rohit singlehandedly won the game for India in the second innings. Rohit was equally good against the pacers and spinners. The Indian captain broke several records during his stay in the middle. Rohit became the batter with the most hundred in the ODI World Cup and has the most sixes for a batter in international cricket.
