Shadab Khan breaks silence after Pakistan team’s rousing welcome in India
Pakistan Cricket Team is in India after seven long years to play cricket in India. It was during the 2016 T20 World Cup that the men in green last set foot in India. Shadab Khan seems to be overwhelmed after reaching the Indian shores. Pakistan were given a huge welcome after they landed in Hyderabad last week.
The Pakistanis began their 2023 ODI World Cup preparations with the warm-up game against New Zealand. The Match played in Hyderabad saw Babar Azam’s team go down to the Kiwis. Pakistan are set to face Australia on Tuesday in Hyderabad in their final warm–up game.
The focus of every cricket is on the 14th of October. That’s the day India and Pakistan clash against each other. The 2023 ODI World Cup will witness its biggest clash take place in Ahmedabad. The match is already sold out as fans are expected to throng the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan speaks on his Indian experience so far –
25-year-old Shadab Khan spoke to Indian media for the first time. The 25-year-old was overwhelmed with the experience he had so far. Shadab Khan started the media conference with a few jokes and kept the assembled journalists entertained.
The focus moved to the way the Pakistani team has been treated so far. Shadab Khan said, “The welcome was fantastic at the (Hyderabad) airport and also a lot of people have been thronging the team hotel and hospitality it’s been really good.”
The Pakistani spinner was also complimentary of the cuisines he had tasted. Shadab Khan said, “The food has been really tasty and the support staff (all South Africans) are worried that we end up increasing our fat percentage “. Shadab Khan also tongue-in-cheek said, “Hope we get the same love in Ahmedabad where we play India”.
Rohit Sharma was singled out for praise when Shadab Khan spoke about the Indian skipper. “I admire Rohit Sharma a lot and among the leading batsmen in the world he is the most difficult to bowl to. Once he gets set he becomes very dangerous”. Shadab also had words of praise for Kuldeep Yadav.
The Indian left-arm wrist spinner is the leading spin bowler as far as India is concerned. Kuldeep Yadav had picked up five wickets in the last India-Pakistan encounter. Speaking about the Indian bowler Shadab said “Among the bowlers, since I am a leg-spinner, it will be Kuldeep Yadav given his recent form”
The Pakistani spinner was also heard speaking about the lessons they learned from the 2023 Asia Cup. Shadab Khan said while the Asia Cup didn’t go as planned they had no option but to learn from their mistakes. He also showed belief in his own skills and hoped to bounce back into form soon.
