The game is slated to take place at the venerable Chepauk Stadium on April 12. Fans are having trouble obtaining tickets despite multiple online booking attempts. Several fans are venting their annoyance on social media, stating that some employees of India Cements are illegally selling tickets at exorbitant prices.
One of the most well-liked teams in the Indian Premier League is the Chennai Super Kings. Their devoted fan base keenly anticipates the match versus Rajasthan Royals. Yet, the improper handling of tickets has infuriated and upset a lot of supporters.
Rs. 750 tickets are being sold as high as Rs. 5000
Several supporters have vented their anger on social media at the Chennai Super Kings’ leadership. They claim that the tickets are being sold to India Cements employees, who resell them on the illicit market for astronomical sums. Several fans have also claimed that the management charges exorbitant ticket fees, charging Rs. 5000 for a ticket that should only cost Rs. 750.
The improper handling of tickets is not a recent issue in the IPL. Many tickets sold on the black market have occurred in the past. To see their favourite teams play, fans are required to pay excessive charges.
The management of the Chennai Super Kings must act quickly to alleviate the supporters’ anxieties. They must ensure that tickets are allocated fairly and that spectators are not compelled to purchase tickets on the black market at inflated costs. Any personnel detected selling tickets on the illicit market should also face harsh punishment.
