Former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad believes that there is no bowler in the Indian cricket Team who will be able to frighten opponents with his abilities and skills. A few weeks back India got outscored by Australia in World Test Championship (WTC) final. They lost by 209 runs against the Aussies. Rohit Sharma’s captaincy has come under scrutiny after the loss.

In an interview with Nadir Ali on his podcast, the Pakistani opener was asked to select one Indian bowler who would pose a significant threat to the opposition. Shehzad said that while India has produced some good bowlers such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah, none of them can create terror in their opponent’s heads.

But there hasn’t been any threatening bowler from India: Ahmed Shehzad

Shehzad stated that “No disrespect to them. But there hasn’t been any threatening bowler from India that the opposition batter is scared to play him. They have good bowlers like Bumrah, Jadeja, and Ashwin, but there has not been a dangerous bowler as such. Their batters are dangerous.” The 31-year-old batter also added that India has always been gifted with world-class batters, with the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, he also insisted that they should visit Pakistan and entertain their fans with their cricketing qualities.

The Pakistani opener remembered the bowling heroics of great fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar while making a claim against the Men in Blue. The Rawalpindi Express used to give nightmares to world-class batters with his fiery speed and lethal bouncers. He said, “I can’t recollect any other bowler apart from Shoaib Akhtar. When I was new to the team, he was already The Shoaib Akhtar. He had 2 great qualities. First, he never bowled no-balls in the nets. Second, he never bowled unnecessary bouncers to the batters in the nets. He knew the batter would get hurt.”

The Pakistan opener also shared his opinions on the Gautam Gambhir vs Virat Kohli incident. He said, “As a viewer, as a sportsman, this hurt my feelings a lot. It seemed like Gautam Gambhir was trying to do something out of jealousy. It looked like he was waiting for something to happen so that he can create a controversy with Virat.”
