The Test series will serve as a warm-up for both India and the West Indies for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) cycle (2023-25). 3. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan, the 25-year-old, was not included in the Test team for the upcoming series against West Indies. He has performed admirably in Ranji cricket this season. In Ranji this year, he batted superbly, accumulating 556 runs in 6 matches at an average of 93, including three hundred and a half-century. Sarfaraz, on the other hand, has played 37 first-class matches in which he has scored 3505 runs in 54 innings at an average of 79.65.

Despite his successes on the domestic circuit over the previous three seasons, the youngster has been unable to break through, leaving fans and analysts enraged and perplexed. Sarfaraz, too, has been left wondering what else he can do. Sarfaraz scored 928 runs in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season at an average of 154.66, including three centuries and two fifties. In the next season, 2021/22, he maintained his superb form, amassing 982 runs at 122.75, including four hundred and two fifties. The streak has continued this season, as he has scored 431 runs at 107.75 with two hundred and a fifty, respectively.
