1. Stephen Fleming
The former New Zealand skipper is undoubtedly one of the best coaches in the history of the Indian T20 League. Stephen Fleming was part of Chennai’s squad in the inaugural season in 2008, and then became the coach of the franchise in the next season. He played a main role in Chennai’s consistent performance throughout the years. Under his stint, Chennai clinched the title in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. The team also ended as the runners-up in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019. Fleming also coached the Pune franchise in 2016 and 2017 after Chennai was banned for two years. Under his stint, Pune didn’t do well in 2016 with the seventh position at the points table but ended as the runners-up in 2017 losing the final to Mumbai by just 1 run.
