‘Hurricane Hooda’ – Twitter lauds Deepak Hooda for blazing half-century

The two debutants of the Indian T20 League Gujarat and Lucknow are facing off against each other at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Hardik Pandya, the skipper of Gujarat won the toss and decided to field first. The decision on part of the Gujarat skipper was proved right by his opening bowlers. Mohammed Shami hit great rhythm from the very beginning of his spell and ran through the Lucknow top order. Lucknow was reduced to 29 for 4 in just the 5th over.
It is at this stage that young Ayush Badoni along with Deepak Hooda started a fightback for the team. Deepak Hooda’s potential as a batter has been hailed by cricket experts for long. But he has not lived up to the expectations till now.
Today was a special performance by Hooda as he scored a half-century under immense pressure. With all the prime batters of the team back in the hut, Hooda showed great maturity along with positive intent to bring his team back on track. He completed his fifty off just 36 deliveries. He was at last dismissed by Rashid Khan of the fifth delivery of the 16th over.
