Lucknow is taking on Chennai in the 7th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The match is taking place at Brabourne stadium in Mumbai. Lucknow skipper KL Rahul won the toss and decided to field first. Chennai went with a change at the top order. They rested Devon Conway for the match and decided to use Robin Uthappa along with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the orange cap winner in the Indian T20 League 2021. But this year, it appears that nothing is working in favour of the young batter.
In Chennai’s first match, Ruturaj was dismissed on the fourth ball of his innings by Umesh Yadav for 0 runs. The fans hoped that in the second match, Gaikwad will find his form back, but that did not happen. In the third ball of the 3rd over, Ruturaj inside-edged the ball to his pad. He was wandering outside the crease after that, as the fielding team was appealing for LBW. The ball went to a backward point and Ravi Bishnoi was quick to seize the opportunity. He threw the ball direct to the stumps and caught Gaikwad way short of his crease. So, Ruturaj had to walk back at the individual score of 1 from 4 deliveries.
The fans immediately took to Twitter to react to the brilliant piece of fielding from Ravi Bishnoi. They also felt for the young batter who had a golden time the last season but is suffering from lack of form this time around.
