‘Virat ki jagah khilaoge kya- Fans react to Harsha Bhogle’s sensational remark on Sanju Samson, calls for his inclusion in India team
Rajasthan Royals took to the top position on the points table after outmuscling Gujarat Titans by 3 wickets on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Royals were pretty good both with the bat and ball and looked the better side of the two. On a good batting track, Royals did exceedingly well to keep Gujarat Titans down to 177 runs in the first innings.
The Royals didn’t allow Gujarat to stitch big partnership, and thus not allowing to them to reach close to 200. Sandeep Sharma was outstanding for his spell of 2 for 25, while the likes of Zampa and Chahal picked one wicket each.
Nevertheless, it was still a competitive score to chase down and Rajasthan needed to bat well. However, what happened was exactly happened as both the openers, Jos Buttler (0) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (1) got out in 2.5 overs with just 4 runs on the board.
But, once again, it was Rajasthan skipper, Sanju Samson, who came to the team’s rescue. He added 43 runs with Padikkal for the third wicket and revived the innings. The game-changing partnership came with Shimron Hetmyer for the fifth wicket. The duo added 59 runs in 33 balls and brought Rajasthan Royals back into the game.
Samson put on an exhibition of fours and sixes as he kept hitting hard to whosever comes out on bowl. Be it spinners or pacers, Samson didn’t spare anytime. He raced to 60 runs off just 32 balls, including 3 fours and 6 sixes. However, in a bid to hit his 7th six, he was holed out at long off to Miller.
Unfortunately, Samson couldn’t finish off the chase for the team but it was still a spectacular and an impactful knock for the team. Renowned cricket commentator, once again, took to Twitter and praised Samson. He called for his selection in the Indian team and the fans couldn’t agree more. Here’s a look at some of the reactions:
This seems to be the common opinion amongst most people, apart from those involved in the selection … they need to wake up #GTvRR #RRvGT #samson

Two players who should be taken into serious consideration for T20Is & completely backed with all heart are Sanju Samson & Ravi Bishnoi. I still find it hard to believe that BCCI knowing about their talent, they still keep overlooking at both of them. It's their loss I would say.

Very well said. He deserves a place in the team more than all the youngsters that have been given opportunities…

I would play Virat Kohli in the Indian T20 team every day.

He’s good only if he bats in the top 4. And currently with Rohit, KL, Kohli, SKy taking up those slots he has to wait. Ideally we should play only 1 out of Rohit, Kohli, KL. So that deserving t20 batters like Sanju, Ruturaj, Gill can be part of the playing XI
