‘Virat Kohli to yuhi badnaam tha, Asli Aggression to ismai hai’ – Fans Look Not Very Pleased With Rohit Sharma’s Aggressive Nature In The First T20I
India took on Australia in the series opener of the three-match T20I series in Mohali on 20 September 2022. After having a poor Asia Cup campaign, India were hoping to perform well in this match ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. But, the result did not go as per plan as Australia won the match by four wickets.
Speaking of the match, Aaron Finch won the toss and he elected to bowl first. India went with veteran keeper Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant once again in the match. On the other hand, Australia handed a debut cap to Tim David. For India, Rohit Sharma came out to open the innings with KL Rahul.
Fans were not happy with Rohit Sharma’s over-aggressive nature against Australia in the first T20I
KL Rahul scored 55 runs off 35 balls while opening the innings. Suryakumar Yadav also scored 46 runs off 25 balls. Hardik Pandya was the star of the show with his 71* runs off 30 balls. He smashed seven fours and five sixes. He scored those runs at a strike rate of 236.66. These innings helped India to post a total of 208 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. In response to that total, Aaron Finch came out to open the innings with Cameron Green. Green scored 61 runs off 30 balls, including eight fours and four sixes. Steve Smith also scored 35 runs off 24 balls, at a strike rate of 145.83.
Wade also scored match-winning 45* runs off 21 balls, including six fours and two sixes. It ensured Australia’s four-wicket victory over India in the series opener. However, the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma looked very aggressive on the field while defending the target. During the 12th over, he was seen grabbing Karthik’s neck in a playful manner for not appealing hard for a catch. Even, he was seen shouting and using abusive language throughout the match. Fans found it shocking as Rohit Sharma is not known like that. Some fans also said that it was all fake and that only being aggressive with the mouth cant help India to win the match.

Believe it or not @ImRo45 has no ability to be a captain. He have to learn lot from Dhoni or Kohli. Captain is not only being aggressive or roar like lion rather than being friend of team mates. pic.twitter.com/jDrUPOsPWQ

But it's too much aggressive behaviour from Rohit Sharma.
DK is a senior player he should respect him .

We need a captain like Dhoni he only knows the real potential of players and give them chances on right time. Rohit sharma is not aggressive but more arrogant. Shame on bcci and coach dravid.

This is highly unacceptable the way @ImRo45 Rohit is abusing Dinesh karthik. People say that virat kohli is aggressive on field but we have never seen him behaving in such manner. He must learn respecting other players and stop abusing verbally and physically. https://t.co/ANzzIbEnPO
