‘Vo Khana Bhot Ache Banati Hai’: Shahid Afridi’s old video on women’s cricket breaks internet
On one hand, women’s cricket is achieving greater heights than ever seen in history. The Indian Cricket Board has mandated equal pay for both male and female cricketers. Also, the Women’s Indian T20 League auction is underway with Smriti Mandhana bagging a deal worth INR 3.4 crore.
The Women’s Indian T20 League is all set to unleash the potential of both domestic and international women cricketers like the Australian Women’s League. Amidst this, the ten-year-old video of the legendary Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi, has resurfaced. The player is talking about women in cricket in the video.
In the video, the interviewer asks Shahid Afridi his view on women’s cricket. Responding to the question, Shahid Afridi stated that the women of his nation have magic in their hands. He further binded them between the four walls and stated that they cook fine delicacies.
“Yaar hamari khawateen k naa, hamari khawateen k haath mai maja bahut jyada hai. To wo khana bahot achha banati hai.” Afridi said.
The interviewer tries to dig deep and pick Shahid Afridi’s mind on women’s cricket. However, the Pakistani all-rounder refrained from making further comments by stating Thank You.
“Thank you. Jawab mil gaya naa aapko”, Afridi added.
