But this time it was different as a girl took to her knees to propose to her boyfriend. As the Boy said yes, his partner put a ring on his fingers and the coupled savored the moment as they embraced each other. Pictures and videos of the couple soon went viral on social media.

Coming back to the match, Chennai won the toss and decided to field first. Bangalore made a brilliant start to their innings as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis put up a partnership of 62 runs in 7.2 overs. Du Plessis was dismissed by Moeen Ali in the eighth over of the innings. This was followed by two more quick wickets of Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli. Virat once again tried to settle himself down to provide himself with the foundation for going big in the later stage. But was dismissed for the score of 30 off 33 balls and failed to go big. With Mahipal Lomror playing a fiery knock of 42 from 27 deliveries and Dinesh Karthik scoring 26 off 17 balls, the Men in Red posted a total of 173 runs.
In the chase, Chennai started well and was progressing steadily at 54 for no loss in 6.3 overs. It was at this stage that Ruturaj Gaikwad (28 off 23) was dismissed by Shabaz Ahmed. Wickets kept falling after this at regular intervals and kept falling behind the chase. Devon Conway (56 off 37) and Moeen Ali (34 off 27) were the only batters from the team who looked resilient. Chennai was restricted to 160 for eight and lost the match by 13 runs. With this, the Men in Yellow got eliminated from the 15th edition of the tournament.
