Watch: Babar Azam’s Vivacious Celebration After Abdullah Shafique’s Century At Galle
Babar Azam-led Pakistan side is currently busy playing with Sri Lanka in the first Test match at Galle. Pakistan came into this series with a motive to strengthen their chance to get into this year’s World Test Championship final. However, the match started well for Pakistan as they took all the wickets of Sri Lanka for 222 runs. In reply, Pakistan batters failed to score miserably as they got bundled out for 218 runs. Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam scored a magnificent hundred to take his home up to that total in their first innings.
But, Sri Lanka managed to score 337 runs in the second innings as the home side set a target of 342 runs for the visitors. However, at the end of day four, Pakistan scored 222 runs by losing three wickets, with Abdullah Shafique still at the crease after scoring a hundred. Meanwhile, Babar Azam was at the other end when he surpassed the three-figure mark. Pakistan skipper celebrated his ton in an animated way and that video got viral quickly over the Internet.

Speaking of that video, skipper Babar Azam’s reaction after his partner Shafique’s century caught the eyes of fans. He looked very animated and thrilled while celebrating his teammate’s ton. Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka put up 222 runs in the first innings, courtesy of Dinesh Chandimal’s 76 run-knock.
Babar Azam’s hundred helped Pakistan to score 218 after they were struggling after scoring 85 runs for seven wickets. In the second innings, Chandimal again scored 94 runs along with Kusal Mendis’s 76 runs. However, Yasir Shah came up with a magical ball to dismiss Mendis on day three.
Now, on day four, Pakistan batters looked more determined as they are now short of 120 runs only with one more day to go in this match. Sri Lanka will look to take the wickets of Rizwan and Shafique early on day five to make a comeback in this match.
