It seems as if David Warner and Matthew Wade forgot that they play for the Australia side in T20I cricket. Apparently, in the 42nd game of the ongoing Big Bash League 2022-23, both players had a physical go at each other. The incident happened at the end of the 10th over in the second innings of the game. After Chris Green completed the over, both teams had a drinks break.

During the break, Wade, and Warner had a fight in which the latter pushed Wade. The incident was caught on camera and the video is going viral on the internet. Meanwhile, commentator Kerry O’ Keffee expressed his displeasure over the matter. He said that the behavior from the pair was inappropriate and mentioned that both players have been friends over the years. The commentator added that the body language suggested that they had a fight.

“That was inappropriate. I don’t know what went on between that pair. Their history goes back a long way as buddies. It’s unsavoury. You can’t have contact like that. Whether they were half joking, I don’t know. Their body language suggested not. There was an issue out there,” said Keffee on commentary.

After being asked about the incident, Warner said that it wasn’t a fight but rather a friendly contest. The left-hander added that they were being feisty. The Australia’s opening batter further added that Chris Green was winding him up before the incident.

“Obviously, we know Wadey loves getting into the contest and being a bit feisty,” said Warner on Fox Sports. “Greeny was winding him up. Suggesting I was going to get run out again or another run out. I was just there trying to diffuse it and they were just going at each other a little bit,” he added.
