As Pakistan cricket team skipper, Babar Azam isn’t having any respite, especially in Test cricket. Since March last year, the team has won only one game, lost five, and drawn three. They were anticipated to dominate the home season and the fans were looking forward to it. Also, not to forget, for the first time in many years, the Asian side hosted Australia, England, and New Zealand.

However, the fans were disappointed after the first two Tests against Australia as they ended in a draw. In both games, the wicket was flat, and because of Pakistan’s batting failure in the second game, the game became interesting. Eventually, the home side lost the last Test in Lahore as Pat Cummins decided to take a chance of taking 10 wickets.

Nine months, the Three Lions came to Pakistan for a Test series for the first time since 2005. The fans once again expected the Babar Azam-led side to do well after playing the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. However, the home side faced the ‘reality’ as they were cleanly swept by the Ben Stokes-led side in the three-match series. Once again, the wickets dished out for all the games were flat.

However, England’s attacking style of play made sure that they won the matches. Now, in the ongoing series against New Zealand, the quality of wickets in Karachi has been poor as they have been flat. In the first game, both teams scored more than 1000 runs combined. The game ended in a draw due to bad light and the Kiwis failing to clean the tail.

In the ongoing second Test between the two teams, both teams scored 400 plus runs each. At this point, the game is heading toward a dull draw. Meanwhile, on Day Three, Doull raised the question of whether Babar Azam asked the pitch curator to dish out flat wickets to improve his stats.
