Mitchell Starc is an X-Factor: Gautam Gambhir

“He is an X-factor, there is no doubt about that. Someone who can bowl with the new ball, bowl in the death overs, and more importantly, someone who can lead the attack,” Gautam Gambhir said in a conversation with Jio Cinema, the digital rights for IPL in India.

“He is going to be of massive help to our two domestic bowlers because both of them are very talented and you need someone to help them out in the middle and Starc covers those bases. It is not only about his bowling but also about leading the attack and helping all guys around him. So, somebody will have to pay for it,” the former KKR captain added.

On the other hand, Starc, after the signing, posted a video

Bidding process emotion: “It was a shock, of course. My wife Alyssa is with the women’s team in India so she was getting updates quicker than what I was seeing on screen. Surprised but thrilled.”

Price weighs on your mind? Approach given the amount of money, and pressure: “Nothing I could’ve dreamt of. A few teams were looking to bolster their bowling attacks but there are a plethora of great bowlers in that list. Pat has gone to Sunrisers, but that’s where he was at KKR, and I hope to fill his shoes there.”
“The phones had a few messages coming through. A few guys from KKR touched base. We’ll get some feedback on what is expected and what I can bring to the table, not just from the point of view of skillsets.”
