Royal Challengers Bangalore settled scores with Lucknow Super Giants by registering a convincing victory against them by 18 runs in a low-scoring encounter in IPL 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, the heated moments that took place after the match caught more attention of fans.

It all started during the 17th over of LSG’s innings. The home team were on the verge of loss as they were struggling to chase 127 runs against RCB. During the over, RCB batter, Virat Kohli was seen having a long and heated chat with the on-field umpires. An over later, it was shown by the broadcasters that Naveen-ul-Haq, who was batting for LSG at that time, charged towards Kohli after he said something to him.

Kohli even showed his shoe before pointing at Naveen. Later, Kohli had a short exchange with Amit Mishra, where he seemed to have warned Mishra to calm Naveen down before the Afghan cricketer gave him a death stare.

Kohli-Gambhir had heated exchange of words after the match

After the match ended, the players from both teams were queued up to shake hands. At that time too, Kohli and Naveen had a short exchange of words. At first, Kohli didn’t pay heed and went on to shake the next player’s hands, but turned back after Naveen kept on hurling a mouthful. However, Glenn Maxwell decided to step up and separate them before things could potentially get out of control.

After the handshakes, Kohli seemed to have an ugly spat with the LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir as both ignored the various desperate attempts from their fellow teammates to stop them. After the heated conversion with Gambhir, Kohli had a chat with the LSG skipper KL Rahul where he probably seemed to explain his side of the story to him.

When Kohli was having a conversation with Rahul, Naveen again walked past him and said something. However, the Indian batter ignored him and gestured him to move away. Talking about the match, batting first, RCB could only manage to score 126 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, powered by the 44-run knock by the skipper Faf du Plessis. However, RCB bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals and bowled LSG out for just 108 runs in 19.5 overs.
