Asia Cup 2022 is going to start on 27 August. However, India and Pakistan will meet each other on 27 August 2022. Hence, ahead of that tournament, players from each team reached the UAE. Now, the Pakistan Board shared a video where players from different countries were seen.

Players from India and Pakistan met and greeted each other ahead of the marquee clash. Players from Sri Lanka also met with other players. Meanwhile, the video got viral and got circulated quickly. However, Pakistan dealt with a blow as Shaheen Afridi will not play in this tournament. Hence, Indian players like Virat Kohli met him and wished him the best of luck for a quick recovery.

Virat Kohli met with Shaheen Afridi ahead of the Asia Cup 2022

Speaking of the video, Shaheen Afridi was sitting on the sidelines. Then, he had an interaction with India’s legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal. After that, he talked with Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul. All the players wished him good luck for a quick recovery.

Apart from players, other coaching and management staff of both India and Pakistan also met each other. However, Pakistan will miss the services of their prime fast bowler Shaheen Afridi due to his knee injury. Mohammad Hasnain is the replacement for him in the squad, as per the announcement of the Pakistan Cricket Board. On the other hand, India will also miss their fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah to his back injury.

Speaking about form, India is coming off an ODI series victory over Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Pakistan also thrashed the Netherlands in an ODI series at a scoreline of 3-0. But, senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant were not present in Zimbabwe. Notably, Virat took a rest from both the West Indies and Zimbabwe tours. Hence, India will bank on these big names players to shine in this upcoming tournament, especially in the first game against their arch-rivals Pakistan.
