After losing the first game of the ‘Super Four’ of the ongoing Asia Cup, India took on Sri Lanka on 6 September 2022. India was hoping to win this match to keep itself alive in this tournament. But, they failed as Sri Lanka won the match by six wickets. With this loss, India is almost out of this year’s Asia Cup with one more match to go with Afghanistan.
In the match, India scored 173 runs by eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lankan batters played well to chase the target down by 19.5 overs. Arshdeep Singh again bowled well in the last over. He tried his best to defend seven runs off six balls. But, he managed to control them until five balls only. After missing that easy catch against Pakistan, He showed some character in this match. But, a video went viral where an Indian fan was seen abusing this youngster while he was going to get into the team bus for going to the hotel.

Speaking of the video, after losing against Sri Lanka, Indian n players were coming out of the stadium. They were looking to get into their team bus to reach their hotel. Then, Arshdeep Singh came out. Some Indian fans and journalists were there to capture their images. Suddenly, among them, one fan commented again about Arshdeep Singh regarding his dropped catch against Pakistan.
However, the young Indian pacer heard this and he stopped while he was entering the bus. Arshdeep gave a stern and angry stare to that person. Meanwhile, the reputed journalist, Vimal Kumar was present there and he did not stop to haul that person. He accused him of abusing India’s players. Eventually, that fan apologized and security removed him from that section.
Speaking of the match, Indian bowlers were let down once again as they failed to defend the total. Now, India will face Afghanistan on 8 September 2022. With this loss, their slim chance of getting qualified for this year’s final is fully dependent on the other team’s results.
