Watch: Interviewer tries Hyderabadi style with Mohammed Siraj in post-match ceremony after India-South Africa game
Mohammed Siraj has been pushing for the selection in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. After all, the team is missing the services of their lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah. At the moment, the likes of Mohammed Shami and Siraj are the front runners to replace Bumrah. Shami has recently recovered from COVID-19 and lacks match practice.
Notably, he is part of the reserve players’ squad. On the other hand, Siraj was the second-highest wicket-taker with five wickets in three games. The Hyderabad player looks more likely to replace Bumrah. The Indian Cricket Board is likely to announce the replacement of Bumrah around October 15. Meanwhile, after the third ODI between India and South Africa, Murali Kartik tried speaking in Hyderabadi style
“Miyan, kya bowling karte hain aap! Sahi bola mein Hyderabadi mein? (Some bowling you’ve been doing lately! Did I say it right in Hyderabadi?),” Kartik asked Siraj.
“Bilkul Sir, (Absolutely Sir),” Siraj responded.
Furthermore, Siraj said that performing against a good team gives a lot of confidence and also spoke about him taking responsibility. The right-arm pacer also spoke about figuring out the right lengths before bowling.
“Performing against a good team gives you a lot of confidence. I had to take the responsibility. I try to figure out the right lengths at the start of the innings. As a fast bowler you need that fire and passion inside you. Happy with my performance, and happy to get this Player of the Series award,” Siraj concluded.
