The Indian Test Team is scheduled for the rescheduled fifth Tets match against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, before this match, India dealt with a major blow as their regular skipper Rohit Sharma tested Covid-19 positive. He was part of the four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire. But, failed to bat in the second innings after being Covid-19 positive.

On the eve of this match, Rohit got ruled out and the captaincy responsibilities got shifted to Jasprit Bumrah. Now, England’s veteran pacer James Anderson opened up on the missing of Rohit Sharma ahead of this match. The video got viral and was shared over Twitter.

Here is the video shared on Twitter:

Rohit Sharma will be back for the T20I series against England

Talking about the missing of Rohit Sharma from this match, James Anderson was asked about it as he was the best batter for India last time when India was there. Also, India will miss his captaincy abilities. In reply, Anderson said that it is quite obvious that it will be a huge loss for India as Rohit will miss the match.

On 30 June 2022, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for the rest of England as three T20Is and three ODIs will be played after this match. Rohit Sharma was included in both the formats which will commence on 7 July 2022.

Speaking about this series, he already scored 358 runs in eight innings at an average of 52.57, including one hundred and two fifties. In the absence of Rohit, India might go for Cheteshwar Pujara to open the innings with Shubman Gill, as per reports. On the other hand, Anderson took 15 wickets in eight innings at an economy of 2.26.

It will be a huge test for the newly appointed Indian captain, Jasprit Bumrah, and his boys to overcome the in-form English boys as they are coming off after whitewashing the Kiwis in a three-match Test series at home earlier this week.
