On 4 September, Barbados Royals took on Saint Lucia Kings in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022. Eventually, Barbados Royals managed to win the match by 11 runs, thanks to the D/L method. In the rain-affected affair, Saint Lucia Kings failed to chase down the revised target in nine overs.

Speaking of performance, Kyle Mayers won the player of the match award. He was brilliant with both the ball and the bat. Especially with the ball, he only took four wickets in two overs. Mayers conceded only four runs. The video of his incredible performance got viral and surfaced all over the internet.

Speaking of the video, the clip showed the bowling performance of Kyle Mayers in the match. He took four wickets in two overs while Saint Lucia Kings was looking to chase down the target. In the match, Barbados Royals batted first. They put up 162 runs in 20 overs by losing seven wickets.

But, due to some rain, the target got revised. Saint Lucia Kings got a target of 103 runs in nine overs. For Barbados, Kyle Mayers scored 36 runs off 23 balls, including six fours and a single six. He smashed those runs at a strike rate of 156.52. With the ball, he took all four wickets of Saint Lucia Kings. His performance was instrumental in helping his team to bag another win in this year’s competition. 

Meanwhile, Saint Lucia batters were in complete misery as they failed to score as per the asking rate. Only their captain, Faf du Plessis remained not out on 47* runs off 20 balls, including two fours and four sixes. Alazarri Joseph tried to help him with his unbeaten knock of 29* runs off 18 balls. Joseph also hit two fours and two sixes. But, still, they managed only 91 runs in nine overs by losing four wickets. Hence, Barbados won the match by 11 runs in this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
