On Dhoni’s birthday, special birthday greetings have been flooding in from the cricket fraternity. Former cricketers and analysts have also supported the talismanic batsman, who recently guided Chennai Super Kings to a record-tying fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) victory. A fan was seen gifting the man with the artwork. Dhoni also looked at the wonderful artwork and humbly posed for photos with the fans.
On the auspicious day of his birthday, images surfaced showing gigantic cut-outs of Dhoni in Hyderabad and Nandigama, Andhra Pradesh. The cut-out in Hyderabad is claimed to be 52 feet tall, while the one in Nandigama is 77 feet tall. The former shows Dhoni in his India shirt, the latter shows him in CSK’s training gear. In Nandigama, there was also a video of milk being poured over the cutout.
Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant chose to cut a cake for his idol on the momentous occasion of Dhoni’s birthday. On his Instagram account, he posted a few images from the cake-cutting event. Dhoni is recognised as one of the finest finishers in limited-overs cricket history. He played 90 Test matches until retiring in 2014, he has amassed 4876 runs with six centuries and 33 fifties at an average of 38.09. His 294 dismissals in Test cricket are the most by an Indian wicketkeeper and the fifth-most overall, after only Mark Boucher, Adam Gilchrist, Ian Healy, and Rodney Marsh.
