Watch: Mumbai Indians take a lap of victory around Wankhede Stadium after their win against SRH in IPL 2023
The Mumbai Indians won their final league game in IPL 2023. They won the toss and chose to bowl. After an impressive bowling display, that kept the Sunrisers to 200-5 in their 20 overs. Then, their in-form batting lineup took over as Cameron Green slammed his first IPL hundred. The Australian made thunderous innings of 100 off 47 balls with eight fours and eight sixes. This innings had a stamp of authority and showed to all the people that he had nerves of steel.
After MI won the game by eight wickets, they went onto the Wankhede and made a victory lap around the ground. MI did this to indicate how much they loved the fans. The fans have been thronging in huge numbers at the Wankhede and have enjoyed MI winning a lot of home games. MI have already set one foot on the door to the IPL playoffs 2023. Now, all they need is Gujarat Titans to beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore. If this happens, MI will end up qualifying for the IPL playoffs for the eighth time.

MI have won eight games and has lost six of them. They had a lot of injury problems before the start of the tournament. Jhye Richardson and Jasprit Bumrah were ruled out due to injury. Jofra Archer did not set IPL 2023 on fire for the Mumbai Indians as he was ruled out midway through the tournament due to persistent elbow trouble. Chris Jordan replaced him in the MI ranks. Despite all these setbacks, they have trumped the big sides in IPL 2023 and have come out on top.
MI has been good as the youngsters have stepped up with both bat and ball, including the likes of Akash Madhwal, Tim David, Green, and Nehal Wadhera. Piyush Chawla has been a revelation for MI and has been their leading bowler and highest wicket-taker. He is the fourth leading wicket-taker in IPL 2023. The leg spinner has picked up 20 wickets in 14 games. MI have won five titles in their IPL history.
