WATCH: Mr. Nags mocks Women’s T20 League’s Bangalore franchise after their horrible season
The Bangalore franchise has not won a single title in the 15 editions the side has played in the Indian T20 League so far, but still they have the most loyal fanbase in the cash-rich league. Because of players like Chris Gayle, AB De Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Faf Du Plessis, the team attracts crowds to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium whenever and wherever they have competed over the past three years.
Even though Kohli, who remained as the team’s skipper for nine years, did not take home the trophy, his relationship with the squad has been maintained. The player with the most runs in the history of the Indian T20 League, Kohli played entirely for one team during the first 16 seasons of the league, beginning in 2008.
Danish Sait’s character for Bangalore Insider, Mr. Nags asked Virat Kohli in an interview what he felt about Mandhana’s assertion that she will help the squad in the same way that the former captain of Bangalore had.“This is big franchise pressure. A lot of people take it as fun and games, ‘this team doesn’t win. Come play when you have so many expectations, we are a big team otherwise, why would we have so many fans if we had some faltu team?” replied Kohli.

Bangalore finished fourth in Womwns T20 League
When the franchise chose to launch a Women’s T20 League team, they got renowned players like Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Richa Ghosh, and Renuka Singh Thakur among others. Bangalore had the second-highest audience support behind Mumbai due to the fact that all of the games were played in Mumbai.
Mandhana, Bangalore’s Women’s T20 League skipper, was naturally questioned about similarities to Kohli before the competition because of her similarity to him in various aspects. “I don’t like that kind of comparison because what he (Kohli) has achieved is amazing. I just hope that I reach that level, but I’m nowhere near. What he has achieved for this franchise (RCB), I would like to try and do that.” Mandhana was quoted as saying.

Despite possessing some of the most well-known cricketers in sports, the team only managed to win two games and finish fourth in a five-team tournament. Although having a lot going for them, the men’s team has yet to claim a championship and continually performs poorly when it matters the most, which prompts the fans to immediately draw analogies with the ITL and WTL teams of Bangalore.
