 Watch: Pakistan Women’s wicketkeeper misses a dolly of a run-out against Australia

Pakistan Women’s team had a horrible three-match ODI series in Australia in recent times. In the first ODI, the Asian side lost by eight wickets and had 67 balls left in the game. In the next game, the Aussies registered a thumping win by 10 wickets. Talking about the third game, the visitors’ wicketkeeper batter, Muneeba Ali made a meal of an easy run-out during the first innings.

In the last over of the Kangaroo’s innings, Jess Jonassen stepped out against left-arm spinner Fatima Sana. The former got yorker as she failed to read the length of the ball. After this, white Kookaburra rolled towards the side of the pitch. Sana ran towards the ball and it looked like she will run-out Jonassen. However, the Pakistani wicketkeeper batter failed to dislodge the bails and the opportunity to pick a wicket.

Talking about the game, the Green Brigade won the toss and elected to field first. They had a good start as Fatima Sana cleaned up youngster Phoebe Litchfield in the eighth over. However, the likes of Beth Mooney and skipper Meg Lanning stitched a partnership of 160 runs for the second wicket. The former scored 133 runs while the skipper scored 72. Their innings and the cameo from Annable Sutherland (26 off 13).

For Pakistan, Sana took three wickets while Diana Baig and Nida Dar took two each. Omaima Sohail took one wicket as well. In reply, the Bismah Maroof-led side had a slow start as openers Sidra Ameen and Sadaf Shamans stitched a partnership of 61 runs in 13.5 overs. Throughout the entire innings, Pakistan’s innings never got going and were restricted to 235/7, losing the game by 101 runs. With this win, the home team cleanly swept their opponents in the three-match ODI series.

After this, both teams will play a three-match T20I series, starting on January 24.
