On 11 September 2022, Pakistan locked horns with Sri Lanka in UAE in the final of the Asia Cup 2022. After losing against Sri Lanka in the last match of the ‘Super Four’ stage, Pakistan was looking to do well this time around. But, they failed again as Sri Lanka won the match by 23 runs. Pakistan was one of the favourites to win this tournament this time around. But, they failed miserably against the spirited Lankans.
Because of the final, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raza was also present in the stadium. But, after the match, he got involved in an unwanted incident with an Indian journalist, Rohit Juglan. He even tried to snatch his phone in response to a question from that journalist. Rohit shared the same video on his Twitter account as the video went viral.

“You must be from India, your people must be very happy” – Ramiz Raza to that journalist
Speaking of that incident, after the match, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board was coming out of the Dubai International stadium. Then, many reporters and journalists went to him for asking some questions. Rohit Juglan was also present there. He asked Ramiz Raza about some messages for the people of Pakistan after this loss.
He asked: “Awam badi nakhush hai. Unke lie koi sandesh? (The people must be unhappy. Any message for them?). Ramiz replied: “Dekhie aap India se honge, aapke (awam) toh bohut khush honge.” (You must be from India, your people must be very happy). However, Rohit denied that they are not happy at all. He said: “Hum khush nahi hai. (No, we are not happy).” In reply to that, Ramiz Raza asked: “Kaunsi awam? (Which people?)”.
Then, Rohit said: “Maine dekha hai Pakistan k logo ko rote hue jate. Kya main ghalat bol raha hu Ramiz bhai? (I’ve seen Pakistani fans go back crying after the loss. Am I saying something wrong?”). Then, Ramiz concluded: “Aap awam ko generalize kar rahe hai. (You are generalizing ‘the people’). After this, he was seen trying to snatch Rohit’s phone also. Ramiz also warned a fan as he was too close to him. “Please ye hath hataiye. Aur aap camera se thoda side ho jaye (Please keep your hands off me and stay away from the camera),” Ramiz Raza said.
