Rinku Singh smashed two monstrous sixes against Aiden Markram in the second T20I at St George’s Park in the death overs. the Indian batter took on the South African captain to cleaners towards the end of the Indian innings. Markram was left with no other options nut to bring on himself to the attack in the death overs against India in the match.

Rinku made Markram pay for his decision. The Southpaw hit back-to-back sixes against the right-arm off spinner. India was 166/5 in 18.4 overs and needed a good finish for their innings. That was when Rinku decided to take on Markram with some risky shots. The first of those resulted in a massive, lofted shot, which made the commentators go wow at it.

The Indian finisher stepped out of the crease and made a good ball to get converted into a fuller delivery. Rinku generated power from his back and was able to connect the ball with perfection. Rinku’s shot hit the meat of the bat, as the ball travelled miles over the mid-wicket fielder. Heinrich Klaasen, the WK of South Africa was genuinely surprised at the shot. And so was Markram.

The South African captain did not seem to learn lessons from the previous shot of Rinku. He bowled a slightly fuller length towards the stumps as a reply to the shot of Rinku. The talented batter replied to it with a statement, in his own style. He stepped out of the crease and took the aerial route. Much like his previous shot, the second six of the over travelled a long distance.

Rinku hit a flat six right over the bowler’s head. The ball landed in the first tier, a long way away from the bowler. Both Klaasen and Markram were surprised yet again. The shot of Rinku marked the end of the over. In two balls, Rinku helped India to fetch 12 crucial runs. The Indian finisher had earlier registered his maiden fifty in the format, saving India from a potential collapse.
