Romario Shepherd sends the ball flying –

Shai Hope was fighting a lone battle with West Indies needing 113 runs from 68 balls when Sherfane Rutherford got out. This brought Romario Shepherd to the crease and the 29-year-old showed his big-hitting skills right from the word go.

With the Maroon Brigade needing 86 runs off 47 balls, Sam Curran bowled a slower ball to Shepherd. The batter put down his foot and smashed the ball straight down the ground to send it outside the stadium. The six was measured to travel a distance of 112 meters making it one of the biggest sixes this year in ODI cricket.

Shepherd was traded to the Mumbai Indians by the Lucknow Giants just a few weeks ago. The six sent Mumbai Indians fans into a frenzy with excitement over their new signing. The 29-year-old scored 49 runs from just 28 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

Chasing 326 to win, Shai Hope stayed not out on 109 from just 83 balls. The WI skipper hit just four boundaries but managed to his 7 sixes in his knock. Two of them came up to not only score his century but also to win the game.

Earlier in the day, the Three Lions were bowled out for 325 in the last ball of their stipulated 50 overs. Harry Brook top scored with 71 runs, while Zak Crawley and Phil Salt came up with decent contributions.

Buttler continued his bad form with the bat as he was out for just 3 runs. Brydon Carse scored 31 off just 21 balls to help his side to the huge score. Curran found some form with the bat as he scored 38 but with the ball, he endured a horrible outing with the ball.
