India Legends and Asia Lions skipper, Gautam Gambhir, and Shahid Afridi have been fierce rivals over the years. Since an ODI game in 2007, both haven’t seen eye to eye to each other. Fans might remember their first during the game. Over the years, they haven’t been able to mend their relationship outside of the playing field. Not to forget, their jibs at each other over the years.

Meanwhile, during the opening game of the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC), Gambhir got hit on the helmet. The left-hander was trying to play a ramp shot but the ball took the edge of the bat. Aftermath, the white Kookaburra went on to hit the helmet of the two-time World Cup winner for India. After this, Afridi came to check on his opposite number.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, Asia Lions won the toss and elected to bat first. The team had a poor start as they lost two wickets for 18 runs. Tillakratne Dilshan and Asghar Afghan got out to Ashok Dinda and Irfan Pathan respectively in the first three overs. At this stage, the likes of Upul Tharanga and Misbah-Ul-Haq put together 108 runs for the third wicket.

The former Sri Lanka opening batter, Tharanga scored 40 off 39 balls including two sixes. Haq scored 73 off 50 balls including two fours and four sixes and helped the team reach 156/6. For India, Parvindar Avana and Stuart Binny took two wickets each. On the other hand, Pathan and Dinda took one each. In reply, India had a poor start as Robin Utthappa got out in the fourth ball of the innings. Gambhir and Murali Vijay put together 50 runs for the second wicket.

Apart from Gambhir, nobody scored a fifty with some batters guilty of throwing away starts. In the end, India lost the game by nine runs with Sohail Tanvir taking three wickets.
