Watch The Video: Brendon McCullum’s Masterplan To Dismiss Shreyas Iyer At Edgbaston
Both India and England are busy playing the fifth rescheduled Test match at Edgbaston in England. Speaking about the match, India batted well to score 416 runs in the first innings while England got bundled out for only 284 runs in their first innings.
However, on day four of the match, India started to score some runs on their overnight total of 125 runs for three wickets in the second innings. Chesteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant were on the crease. However, Pujara got out early as Shreyas Iyer came out to bat. He looked in good touch as he smashed some beautiful drives on the cover. But, again he fell into the short-ball trap as he lost his wicket to Matthew Potts as he was caught at midwicket by James Anderson. The English Cricket Board also shared the video of him getting out with a caption: “Fell into the trap”.

Former Kolkata coach plotted the plan and it worked
Just like in the first innings, it was former Kolkata coach, Brendon McCullum who plotted his dismissal. However, he was looking good in this inning and everyone was hoping that he will avoid the trap this time. But, the current England coach signaled something from the dressing room, and shortly after that Iyer lost his wicket. Even, images of him, suggesting England bowlers use the short ball, got viral and circulated quickly over the internet.

Last year, Brendon McCullum was the head coach of the Kolkata franchise in the Indian T20 League. Shreyas Iyer was the captain of the team. Hence, he worked with him very closely during that time, and thus, that worked in favour of McCullum this time.
Speaking about the match, India is currently sitting at the top as the lead is now 361 runs. India is now at a score of 229 runs by losing seven wickets. Both Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami are on the crease, as of now.
