Watch: Total ecstasy in Zimbabwe as their national side humble Pakistan in 20-20 World Cup 2022
When Craig Ervine-led Zimbabwe entered the Optus Stadium in Perth, they had only victory to their name against Pakistan. Both teams have played 18 T20Is including the Super 12 encounter in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 on October 27. The only victory for the Red Brigade came last year and the game was a famous one, especially for the fans.
Apparently, while defending 119 runs, Pakistan was bowled out for 99 runs, losing the game by 20 runs. Coming back to the recent game, the 2009 winners looked like favorites. They restricted the Southern African side to a paltry total of 130/8. However, Zimbabwe was determined to win the game and did so by one run in the end. Meanwhile, a video of Zimbabwe fans celebrating wildly is going viral.
In the video, the fans could be seen expressing their joy after the famous win.

After the game, Craig Ervine said that the team didn’t want their tournament to end in the Super 12 round. The left-handed revealed that they were willing to play top-quality cricket against the top-side in the second round.
“It’s so special. Especially for the work that we did to get into the Super 12s and we didn’t want our tournament to end there. We wanted to come in and play some really good cricket against some top teams and I thought we did that exceptionally well today. I thought after our batting performance, we thought that we were maybe 20 or 25 short. But our seamers hit their straps early on and there was just a little bit more in the wicket compared to when we started off. came to the party as he always does and picked up a few crucial wickets in the middle there.
