Although India lost the match, they secured the series 2-1 with victories in Mohali and Indore.

This gracious gesture from Rohit was captured in a viral video on social media. In addition to this, when it came to clicking photos with the trophy, the Indian team handed over the trophy to Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. In the final ODI, Australia, led by part-time off-spinner Glenn Maxwell, applied pressure on the Indian middle-order, resulting in a 66-run victory for Australia. Despite the loss, India emerged triumphant in the overall series. Initially cruising at 171 for 2 in pursuit of 353, India faltered in the middle order under Maxwell’s crucial breakthroughs, finishing at 286 in 49.4 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma (81) and Kohli set up a solid foundation, but subsequent batsmen struggled, giving Australia the upper hand.

“I’m pretty happy, of course, I would like to go all the way along but if I’m hitting like that, I’m happy. In the last 7-8 ODIs we have played really well, we have been challenged under different conditions and different teams, I thought we responded to that challenge pretty well. Unfortunately, not the result we wanted today,” the Indian skipper said after the match.
