On 31 August 2022, India took on Hong Kong in their second match of the Asia Cup campaign in Dubai. After winning against Pakistan, India was looking to seal their place in the super four. However, they managed to do so by winning the match by 40 runs.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong players tried their level best as they scored 152 runs. But, during India’s innings, Suryakumar Yadav played an outstanding knock of 68* runs off 26 balls. Virat Kohli also scored 59* runs. But, his innings got overshadowed. But, after that innings, Kohli’s gesture towards Surya went viral and fans loved it.

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav put up an unbeaten partnership of 98 runs against Hong Kong   

Speaking of the viral video, Indian batters were struggling to time the ball during the middle phase. KL Rahul got out for 36 runs off 39 balls. After that, Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat. He did not take too many balls as he started hitting boundaries. He stitched a solid partnership of 98* runs with Virat Kohli.

He even scored 26 runs in the last over of the innings, including four huge sixes.  Virat also hit one four and three sixes in his innings. So, after that innings, when he was walking off the field, Virat bowed down to him. Virat’s gesture was to acknowledge his innings. Fans loved it and it was quite a brutal hitting from Yadav.

Speaking of the match, India scored 192 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma failed to score big again. Virat Kohli scored 59* runs off 44 balls. While Yadav scored 68* runs off 26 balls, including six fours and six huge over-boundaries. But, Hong Kong showed a spirited fight. They managed to score 152 runs by losing five wickets in 20 overs. Thus, India won the match by 40 runs. Suryakumar Yadav won the player of the match award also. Meanwhile, with this win, India sealed their place in the super four of this year’s Asia Cup.
