Star Afghanistan pacer Naveen Ul Haq is set to face Virat Kohli once again in the ODI World Cup 2023. In their last encounter, both had a huge verbal spat on the ground. Their fight during the Indian Premier League 2023 made huge headlines, which also included former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

However, ahead of Afghanistan’s World Cup game against India, Kohli fans trolled Naveen-Ul-Haq. Kohli, who is probably playing his last World Cup game in front of his home crowd, received overwhelming support from fans. As Naveen was practising near the boundary ropes, Kohli fans raised Kohli-Kohli chants and teased him.

The video of the incident went viral on social media as fans started trolling Naveen on Twitter too. Earlier in the day, Naveen-Ul-Haq’s IPL franchise, Lucknow Super Giants, also trolled him by posting pictures of mangoes. LSG admin tweeted, “No mangoes today, please.” In response to a query, the admin responded, “We back Naveen, but today it’s all about India.” The post attracted a lot of support as fans praised the club’s nation-first thinking.

Afghanistan fumbled in death overs against Jasprit Bumrah

However, talking about the game, Afghani batters had a great time on the batting pitch. After three early wickets, Afghanistan skipper Hasmatullah Shahidi and all-rounder Rahmat Shah added 121 runs for the fourth wicket. Their partnership outplayed Indian bowlers in the middle overs, who struggled to take wickets. Shahidi, in his innings, scored 80 runs off 88 balls with the help of eight fours and a six.

Meanwhile, Shah, in his innings, scored 62 runs off 69 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes. However, in the end, Afghani batters lost the plot as Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav drew wickets. After 50 overs, Afghanistan posted a competitive total of 272/8. India pacer Jasprit Bumrah clinched four wickets, while Hardik Pandya got two wickets.
