Lucknow and Bangalore squared off against each other in the Eliminator for the Indian T20 League 2022. The match saw an interruption when a man from the audience stepped into the ground. The spectator was running around the pitch while the securities on the ground chased him.

The invader also tried to meet Virat Kohli, who was fielding at the fence. Virat however gestured the fan to not come closer, which the man obeyed and stopped at a distance from the star cricketer. The security personnel grabbed the opportunity to catch the invader. But the way the security personnel carried the man off the ground left Kohli along with the crowd in splits.

As the young man was caught one of the guards carried him off on his shoulders out of the ground. Kohli who was standing pretty close to the incident, could not control his laughter after watching the turn of events unfold. He soon imitated how the guard carried out the whole operation.

Bangalore to play Rajasthan in Qualifier 2

Speaking of the match Bangalore was able to put a mammoth total of 207 runs on the board. The prime architect behind Bangalore’s stellar effort was Rajat Patidar. He played a brilliant knock of 112 runs off just 54 balls. Patidar was ably supported by Dinesh Karthik, who played a brilliant little cameo of 37 runs off 23 balls.

Lucknow on the other hand in their chase was led mainly by KL Rahul. He played a knock of 79 runs off 58 balls. Deepak Hooda (45 off 26) formed a good partnership with Rahul and tried to keep the chase on the target. But Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel bowled some brilliant overs in the death and led Bangalore to a win by a margin of 14 runs.

While Rahul scored a half-century, he received a backlash from fans and experts for his approach during the chase. Many were of the opinion that he left it too late to show proper intent in chasing down the stellar target
