WATCH: Wasim Akram asks Australian commentators to pronounce ‘Fakhar’
A video of Wasim Akram asking to pronounce the name of Fakhar Zaman to the Australian commentators has gone viral on the internet. Wasim was in the commentary box during the recently concluded Test series between Australia and Pakistan. The former Pakistani cricketer was along with the commentators like Callum Ferguson and James Brayshaw. The focus of the commentary box was regarding the pronunciation of some of the names.
The way Australian people pronounce the names of some of the cricketers is a bit bizarre. And it has nothing to do with the individuals. It is pretty much the same when they pronounce the names of some of their own cricketers. Wasim Akram talked about the same and took an indirect jibe at the Australian commentators about the pronunciation of some of the names.

Akram told the commentators, “And there’s another name you guys mess up as well,” while talking about some of the names that do not sound good while the Australians pronounce them. “Aw no,” said Callum. “Hang on,” said Brayshaw. Akram continued and asked the commentators, “Yeah, Try to pronounce Fakhar”. The polite request from Akram saw the commentators being terrified in a joking way.
‘Was has taken on the Triple M way’ – James Brayshaw
The question from Akram had a genuine laugh and surprise from the commentators. Brayshaw and Callum gave their try for the question of the former World Cup winner. “Was (Wasim) has taken on the Triple M way,” said Brayshaw as he replied to Wasim’s questions. Callum then gave it a try and pronounced the name of Fakhar Zaman, which turned out to be good. Wasim appreciated the efforts of the former Australian cricketer.
Wasim explained how the Australians find it difficult to pronounce the name ‘Fakhar’. The former Pakistani captain narrated a story of one of his relatives whose name happened to be ‘Fakhar’ as well. The story of Akram had the commentators at bits. The three then continued and talked about the match between Australia and Pakistan. The fans online had a laugh about the interaction.
