WBBL09: All you need to know about Women’s Big Bash League 2023
Women Big Bash League (WBBL) 2023 is a T20 league cricket tournament held across 8 competing teams and is conducted by the Australian cricket board (Cricket Australia). The ninth edition of the WBBL will be held from 19 October to 2 December. The tournament is conducted in a home and away Robin format with each team playing 14 fixtures at 10 neutral venues.
The league matches will be conducted till 26th November and the table topper will directly qualify for the final while the third and fourth place holder will compete to play against the second position holder in the Challenger match to ultimately fight against the table topper in the final game.
WBBL comprises 8 teams, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Brisbane Heat, Melbourne Stars, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, and Brisbane Heat are the most successful teams in the WBBL as they have lifted the title twice each. The defending champions Adelaide Strikers will compete in the game once again after lifting the title in the eighth season of WBBL.
Where can you watch?
The Australian audiences can witness the live action on Fox Sports, while the UK audiences might see some clashes on Sky sports in the WBBL matches because of the ODI World Cup 2023.
Sony will broadcast the Women’s Big Bash league matches live on the Sony six channel and their SonyLIV network. New Zealand and South African fans can watch the WBBL live action on sky sport and SuperSport respectively.
