‘We are starting to understand how to play concerning each other’: Prithvi Shaw on gelling with new members in the Delhi team

Delhi’s start to the Indian T20 League 2022 has not been ideal. They have lost three of their first five matches in the tournament. Delhi lost their encounters against Bangalore, Lucknow and Gujarat, while they have emerged victorious against Mumbai and Delhi. Before the start of their match against Punjab Delhi are placed at 8 in the points table.
The aggressive opener for Delhi, Prithvi Shaw has opened up about the experience of gelling with the new members of the team. He feels that it will take time for the whole team to get together and understand each while playing concerning each other.
Shaw was seen talking about the experience in a video posted on YouTube from the official account of Delhi. He was seen emphasizing on the fact that it will take one or two games more for the players to have a better understanding as a team.
“Now that 4-5 games are over, we are starting to understand how to play concerning each other. It is a new team this year with some new faces, so it will take a bit of time to get adjusted. In the two games that we won, we went in with good strategy and tactics. But I think we will need 1-2 more games to understand each other. So, we have time to correct our mistakes and execute our roles from the next game”- said Shaw in the video.
“I think this is just the start. Only five matches have been played and a lot of games remain. As a team, we need to work on a lot of things because as individuals, each one knows their role as the players are experienced,”- he further added.
Meanwhile, Delhi is playing Punjab in the 32ns match of the Indian T20 League 2022. With the help of a brilliant effort from the whole bowling lineup, they dismissed the opposition for a meager total of 115 runs. With a strong batting lineup, Delhi is strongly poised to register two more points in the tournament.
